Tragic Yonkers girl loses limb in New Haven train accident
On her nineteenth birthday Miss Sarah Aldrich formerly of New Haven and now of Yonkers was crushed beneath a moving train at Grand Central. Her left leg was severed below the knee while companion Miss Dorothy Sass suffered a multiple skull fracture. BothPatients were at Bellevue Hospital with slim chances of recovery.

In Willimantic Oct 12 Walla Szozopinak, 12, son of Mr and Mrs Jacol Axozoninak, narrowly escaped a moving train on the railroad near his home. Previously on August 6 the deaf and dumb boy walked onto the track and lay between the rails as a train approached, again escaping uninjured.
Democrats fail to name candidate in 230rd district convention
The 28rd senatorial district Democratic convention adjourned without a nominee after two hours of discussion. A committee from Ninth, Tenth and Twelfth districts will hunt a candidate today for presentation at tomorrow’s session. Names mentioned included Francis Dunigan, who declined, with a strong man eyed to oppose Senator Howard S. Challenger. Antonio Virelli was named Democratic nominee for alderman in the Tenth district.
