Brock's Move From Bridgeport Y M C A to Springfield College
Jona D Brock longtime physical director of Bridgeport YMC A accepted a Springfield Y M C A College appointment as instructor. He led Bridgeport’s physical department ten years doubling membership and expanding Warner gym into a two court facility. Brock inspired thousands of boys and men in hygiene, recreation and fitness and developed many athletes including Yale swimming captain John Hincks. International YMCA considered him for foreign posts. he served in WW I with commendation from his regiment and was chosen for French war department note.
