In Maracay Venezuela a self styled Modesty Brigade roams a local motel stripping 13 couples of their clothes and urging them to adopt virtuous behavior. The group, armed with revolvers and gh otpins, torched the motel owner and then knocked on rooms claiming police authority.
Pope Paul VI, 80, opened the fifth World Synod of Bishops in Vatican City signaling no resignation, thanking bishops for birthday greetings and stating a resolve to dedicate strength to the church.
