Isidore Yochelman, with a revoked license, faced accusations of soliciting trade as a doctor in Bridgeport. A grand jury investigating a Connecticut track scandal noted his monthly payment plan for families. A reported case involved a two year old child who died after treatment by Yochelman and other doctors questioned his diagnosis and care.
NEW HAVEN Nov 29 Two people died and four were badly hurt when a car left Middletown turnpike near Northford late today. Victims include Mrs Agatha Hoffman and Miss Sarah Ewald both Cromwell residents. Injured are Miss Anna Ewald Mrs Catherine Schell Anthony Ewald and William Dowling. Stewart Kirkman of Middletown helped transport Miss Ewald to town. Police and two ambulances responded. Medical examiner noted Dowling may be responsible but did not rule manslaughter.
A Norse storm swept Caillou Bayou 16 miles south of Houma Louisiana causing five deaths and injuries to others. The Guidry family perished when their home was wrecked and a 12 year old girl drowned after a houseboat overturned. About 26 houses were destroyed in the area.

A Thanksgiving night crash on Connecticut Avenue left one man with the loss of the left eye and four cars wrecked. John B Heigelman 69 Main Street New Haven was driving drunk with his two sons when his car struck Jeffery Casey 27 Bishop Avenue destroying both vehicles. Heigelman and his son Andrew Sr were taken into custody for drunkenness and driving while intoxicated with bonds set at 260 dollars. A second drunken driver Edward W Keanon 62 Cottage Street hit Raymond Kehler on Warwick Street. Both cars were damaged and towed.
New York reports describe seven celebrants dead or dying after Thanksgiving revelry as drinkers were rushed to Bellevue Hospital. Vincent Moncello is named among the dead. others unidentified. A separate Michigan incident near Jackson notes two women and a man injured when their automobile train collision occurred on Michigan Central tracks two miles west of town.

NAW TORK November 29 Charged by police with looting church poor boxes as his occupation from which he derived an income of $50 a week Louis McCauley arrested in the Church of the Holy Name after a struggle with sexton Hugh O’Hara. He remained in the church after the congregation filed out and, in meditation while reciting the Rosary, emptied a bless candle box of 22 dollars in small change into his hat. O’Hara chased him to the door and a parishioner summoned a quick response. Police found Rosary and Prayer Book and a quantity of small change in the prisoner’s pockets.
Bridgeport savings banks confirm 4.5 percent annual dividends. Bridgeport Savings Bank will credit the semiannual 4.5 percent dividend tomorrow, the 162nd in a row, as Samuel M. Hawley and officials deny any imminent rate cut. City Savings Bank also plans 4.5 percent for the coming year, with trustees to declare a 4 1/3 percent dividend and no plan to reduce rates. If changes occur, they would affect only commercial bank savings departments.

Griffin, treasurer of the Third District Democratic association and assistant tax collector under Tax Collector Edward A. Drew for the last two years, will sever his connections with that department at five o clock this afternoon. Walter J. Hartnett, re elected alderman from the Fourth District, will be sworn in as Drew s assistant either today or tomorrow. No transfer of Griffin s bond will be made to his name. Griffin was sworn into office with other city officials. In November the following night the Democratic executive board unanimously endorsed Hartnett for the job. Provlo to this action the collector had declared his assistant would stay in ties but afterward a request Griffin for, no resignation, which was not forthcoming. The assistant was then notified he would be relieved of his duties after November but was asked to remain to instruct his successor. TAL he refused to do. D Elia Ready. Paul T Illa, defeated Republican candidate for tax collector, who has been named assistant city clerk to succeed James J Walden, assistant under Francis P Dunigan, has resigned his position with the Internal Revenue Department, and will enter the office as City Clerk Alfred W. Burdick s assistant tomorrow after the oath is administered. Walden has been appointed by the Republican administration until January 1. He will remain until that time to instruct both city clerk and assistant on the duties of that office. The resignation of James F. Somers, superintendent of the city garage is effective tomorrow.
