Four Arrested as Riot Hits Irish Protest Meeting

In New York on November 6 four persons were arrested and several injured after a riot outside the Taft Carroll theater during an Irish protest meeting sponsored by the American Association for The Liberation of the Triad Republic. Edward Mallard, slated to speak from a ladder propped against the building, was ordered arrested as reserves were deployed and then driven off by the crowd. The incident followed a prior protest against the execution of Evisine Childers. Springfield Union Station Damaged by 40000 Fire

A blaze on the north side of Springfield Union Station caused about 40000 in damage. Firemen fought dense smoke for nearly an hour, moving pouches and mail as officials guarded them.
