Early rounds lead a policeman to a window at the post office where he confronted a burglar and brought down the man. John Richards and Edward Wesling were found in custody, wanted in Newport Rhode Island and Quincy on burglary charges. A patrolman later detained Peterson and Alexander. they were said to be members of the same gang. The captured men faced charges of attempting to break into the post office with intent to rob. others were charged as accomplices. Goods were found in the automobile and at the curb.
