Four people, three women and one man, were arrested yesterday afternoon in a numbers raid at 49 Freeling Street. Mrs Hetty Post, 5 of 109 Main Street Jinkensdck MN, an ordained minister, was charged with fortune telling and related practices and held on 409 bail. Fannie Herring, 38, of 109 Porter Street Waterbury, was also charged with policy playing, jailed on 500 bail. Ross Russell, 28, and her husband Robert, 41, Freeman Street residents, were arrested for playing after evidence of rambling found in the house. About a dozen dream books and slips and $17 in cash were seized. Police say the raid disrupted the operation and two detectives overheard promises of “tomorrow the number” before entry.
