Sheriff ballot irregularities alleged in Derby count
Nov 16. Russell Rice, political agent for Frederick W. Orr, claims evidence shows illegal ballot procedures in Derby. Voters counted showed cross marks extending outside the bubble, with Republican votes reportedly tossed while Democratic ballots were counted. County officials note few ballots were discarded. recount petitions seem unlikely but court orders may allow examination of ballots in the City Clerk's office. Sheriff Reilly carried Derby by about 40 votes.
