Stamford Official Protests Rules Over Rotary Traffic
Stamford officials report 150 arrests for violating the new rotary traffic system. Prosecuting Attorney Max Sparke criticizes vague posted rules and urges clearer signage and time for public familiarity. Sparke proposes a straight Main Street system with a central tower to regulate traffic. Spelke’s car is twice tagged for parking infractions as he publicizes his concerns. The City Board of Finance denies claims the Common Council usurps its powers in Harbor View Pumping Station funding.
