Bootlegging Raid Nets $40,000 Whiskey Stash in Greenwich

Four men detained as police guard 600 cases of Scotch valued at $40,000 and two trucks plus two sedans seized after an early morning bootlegging raid along Greenwich shore. Authorities say the gang used an electrical signaling system from the Boston Road area to the waterfront to coordinate shipments. Gorilla Attacks Photographer On Ballin Today

John Daniel II, a 900 pound pet gorilla owned by Miss Alys Cuttingham, attacked motion picture cameramen on board Ballin Today injuring Kay Baines assistant to Miss Cunningham before being subdued and imprisoned in his cabin. The ship's doctor treated Baines as Miss Cunningham calmed the animal.

State Park Head Urges County to Support Funds

State Park and Forest Commission plans to push Sherwood Island as a state park before the next General Assembly. Lucius F. Girl Struck by Car Fled Driver Suspected Injuried Near Death

A 13 year old girl from 3 Bannet Street was struck on Connecticut Avenue near Bunnell Street and left with a fractured skull. She was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital. The car owner John Zeuzel of 198 Quality Street says the vehicle was stolen Wednesday night by the attacker. Police patrols and the detective bureau are pursuing clues to identify the driver and recover the vehicle as witnesses describe a fleeing crowd and a man or men in the car.

Police Chief Sued for 10000 in False Arrest Case

Fres Dubshrve files a $10,000 damages suit against Police Chief William E. Nevin over a false arrest linked to a September incident.
