Danbury 13 year old Robert J. Werner son of Mr and Mrs Walter Werner was reported missing to State Police at Ridgefield at 10 pm after leaving home three hours earlier. Police issued a statewide alarm and notified New York authorities. Werner described as five feet tall and 100 pounds with crewcut brown hair, wearing a beige blue and yellow Norwegian sweater, yellow sport shirt, brown slacks and brown shoes. His father is Hoffman Fuel manager and California Oil Marketers Inc vice president, and he chairs a Danbury Community Chest drive opening Wednesday.

Three Boston Cops Accused of Robbing Bootblack
Three uniformed Boston patrolmen were relieved of duty after a boot black accused them of robbing him of 25 dollars in a South End shoeshine shop. Police Capt Frank H. Sliney said warrants for larceny will be sought in municipal court Monday against the three, one of whom held the department’s Medal of Honor for heroism last year. None were identified, and all denied being in the shop or knowing proprietor Fred Haley.

Navy Plane Missing Over Atlantic After Crash
Two Civil Air Patrol pilots from Stratford and Milford were injured when their search plane crashed near Middletown while investigators pursued the missing New York to Windsor Locks flight. The wreckage they had found showed three dead aboard the other plane. Captain Dixon of Milford suffered a thorax fracture, and Warrant Officer Kekacs of Stratford a compound ankle fracture and leg injuries. Both were hospitalized with Dixon listed as critical and Kekacs as fair.
