United States proposes July 1 as Palestine independence target

The United States urged early and complete British troop withdrawal from Palestine and proposed independent Arab and Jewish states by July 1. A three member UN commission would advise the new nations during a transition, with Britain retaining order duties until independence. Reds War Crimes Accusations Rejected by UN Assembly

Goblins Slowdown Amid Cool Halloween Weather

Wet weather tinged Halloween on Main Street with sparse crowds as goblins gnomes and elves braved rain to celebrate. Police kept order while goblin headquarters reported the night’s festivities were not spoiled and children still enjoyed their nelvaxs. An owl got wedged in a chimney during a minor incident reported by owl files from chimney.

Picketing Ends At Logan Stores In Connecticut

The AF of L Retail Balesla union picketed four Logan Brothers stores in the city and one in Ansonia for a week. Management signed a contract with the union ending the dispute though some employees objected to renewal. Picketing ceased after the agreement was settled. Gabriel Levanio, 731 Madison.

Frouge Ex-Wife Alimony Clash Ends in Compromise

Bridgeport contractor Thomas Frouge and his ex-wife Macron Chase Frouge reached a compromise over alimony and child support for their 16 year old son Thomas J. Frouge after a heated Superior Court hearing before Judge Thomas J. Molloy. Frouge agreed to pay a $550 medical bill incurred by his ex-wife and maintain weekly payments of $20 while both sides avoided further demands. The session featured sharp tension when attorney Paul L. Miller pressed Frouge about a claimed incident involving the son.

Joseph P Andrews 34 of 134 Deacon Street, a U S Army veteran, was arrested after admitting theft of government checks and personal letters from mailboxes for more than a year at 2365 East Main Street.
