A Halloween celebration turned chaotic when a magic lantern caused a curtain fire at a small party, triggering police action and a brief arrest of a boy. Traffic halted as crowds roamed the streets, but authorities called it a quiet night overall. At 1066 Kos sith Street a lantern explosion started a blaze that was quickly controlled by Hose Company No 10. The home housed over 100 children from 12 families. six boys aged seven to 12 were taken into custody after a frailan ringing incident.

Two cars were stolen last night while owners attended Halloween parties. Daniel Brennan of 88 Washington Terrace reported his seven passenger sedan with Connecticut plate 7313 stolen from in front of the Knights of Columbus hall. Edward Manards of Tavs Fill reported his touring car stolen from a Lumber Street parking spot.
