Man Arrested for Assault Dies By Own Hand in Cell

Anton Sunbarti, after beating his wife at 46 Bryant Street, hanged himself in a Third Precinct cell shortly before 11:30 p.m. He had been arrested on assault and breach of the peace, held in $60, and his death was confirmed by Dr. Alfred Kornblut at Emergency Hospital. Sunbarti, 49, leaves a widow Elizabeth and three children.
