Trial Set June 10 in Danbury drunken driving case

State's Attorney inquiry into a motor vehicle case in Danbury Traffic court led to the arrest of George Woycik 415 Danbury on a bench warrant for drunken driving. He forfeited a $100 bond in March and will stand trial by jury June 10 while in Fairfield county jail for probation violation on a gaming charge.

Airliner buzzed near Salina with Knowland aboard

United Air Lines DC 7 carrying Sen William Knowland and 57 passengers was buzzed by a US Air Force B 47 near Salina Kansas today, pilot W K Wolfe says the bomber crossed 300 to 1000 feet in front of the airliner. Submarine collision near Pearl Harbor injures no one

The destroyer escort Silverstein struck the submarine Stickelback 20 miles south of Honolulu. Both ships returned to Pearl Harbor with no casualties. Stickelback surfaced and was towed to safety after minor flooding. Greenlet rescue vessel dispatched and other surface ships diverted.
