Bridgeport plans a 10 a.m. Memorial Day parade forming on Broad Street north of State Street with veterans in blue and khaki, a flag ceremony, and acts of remembrance for Civil War and Great War dead. Progress Week events include Seaside Park concerts, Newfield Park game, and police and postal holiday schedules.
Ten petitions were examined by the Fire Committee including opposition to a laundry at 881 Hallett Street. Reports will go to the Common Council at Monday's meeting. Other items listed included requests related to gas stations, a bakery, and property alterations in several streets.

Charges allege a nationwide restraint of trade with violations dating back to 1923 and extending into the last three years. Aggregate business reported includes $15.6 million for refrigerators $15 million for chair companies and $80 million for case goods.
Marie Spirigia aged 60 sues Andrew Palmier aged 70 in Superior Court for $3000 damages claiming a promise to marry on April 1 1926 induced her to give up a boarding house and sell personal property. The suit alleges reliance on the promise and breach by Palmier.

Darien May 29 Judge Charles Bates Dana was appointed by the legislature as judge of the new Darien Town Court for two years starting July 1 1925. He selected Max Spelke as prosecuting attorney for the same period. The court was created two weeks ago by a general Assembly act. Dana, a San Francisco native, practiced in New York and Connecticut before his Connecticut bar admission in 1907. He served in the U S Navy in World War I and held posts in Argentina Uruguay and other locations as a legal assistant. He is active in Knights of Columbus and local clubs.
Bridgeport celebrates Progress Week with 170 exhibits in a 450 foot tent at Seaside Park. Mayor Behrens formally opens at 8 pm after a 3 pm opening, with expected crowds up to 100000 visitors. The event features industrial displays, a Howe sewing machine model, and city department exhibits, with strict rules banning venders and vehicles in the park after 9 am.
