State Chamber Outlines Cooperation Plan Wins Support
The State Chamber staff and regulation committee led by Arthur D. Coffin examined truck carrier rules and advertising publicity laws. They urged a financial responsibility requirement for truck owners and backed a survey to gauge advertising value while noting Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire enacted related measures. The panel on commercial arbitration produced a Yale Law School model statute and fostered talks across the state. The report highlights a year of non legislative work and a leaner balance sheet, praising participation by 11 directors and the chamber staff for a record year.
