New York May 26 The Amer Gas association emergency conference voted to appeal directly to oil producers and refiners rather than seek government priority rights. A committee will confer with oil companies to secure agreement for oil prioritization for gas making so as to ensure sufficient supply for vital uses and continued service.
The Connecticut State Federation of Labor adjourned its convention in Cateribit with Bridgeport selected as the site for next year’s annual meeting. Officers were elected, including President Patrick F. O'Meara who was re-elected. Other officers named included Ira and Marin K. Dildgevor.

Hartford May 20 An explosion occurred at the state armory basement kitchen setting off a brags pine bomb. The First battalion Connecticut State Guard numbering 369 men was on duty. State guard had been on duty there since May 1 amid bomb plot rumors with no incidents.
