Efficiency and worth of receiver by FP M Russell
A 1926 article argues many advertised radio receivers are poor bargains. It outlines criteria for value, including tone quality, selectivity, tuning ease, sensitivity, and power use. Tests include background noise, degree to tune out stations, distant reception, and battery current draw for 3 to 8 tube sets.

House in Turmoil Over Harbor Bill
Washington May 23 The $36 million rivers and harbors authorization bill faced four hours of paralyzing debate as the House paused to vote on adjournment. Controversial provisions were trimmed including $250,000 for an All American canal survey and $1,850,000 for Illinois River navigation work amid water diversion fears from Lake Michigan. The bill’s fate hung on future votes and a proposed reintroduction of the canal survey with word changes by Rivers and Harbors chairman Levosey.
