House group would cut president's power
A House Judiciary subcommittee recommended Congress declare the President has no inherent power to seize private property. It also urged that the President not be allowed to alter wages hours prices or working conditions in any plant mine facility or other property he has taken over since April 1 or might take over in the future. The measure aims to extend 49 of the President's emergency war powers to June 30, 1953. Parcel service by air is now being provided to the Gold Coast of Africa by British planes.
