Nelsie Walker, brown eyed daughter of Eneida Rivera, won the Jenny Lind title at the Barnum Festival finals held in the Memorial auditorium. Walker, representing the Stamford area auditions, was chosen by judges to represent the Swedish Nightingale in New York. Her accompanist was Peter Schaaf and she sang Norma’s Aria from Don Pasquale. Walker plans further study with the Manhattan School of Music and John Brownlee Opera Theater.
