Brannan Blames Congress For Grain Storage Scandal
Agriculture Secretary Brannan told the Senate Agriculture Committee that Congress set the conditions for grain storage shortages by limiting the Commodity Credit Corporation law in 1948. Senator Aiken accused Brannan of distorting events as the panel debated political influences on farm prices and storage capacity.
