An 83 year old resident on Prospect Street was duped out of 2800 by a caller posing as a Peoples Savings bank detective. Police report says a man between 25 and 40, about five foot four with a deep voice, instructed the woman to withdraw funds and walk with the money to a second street to trap the suspect. The victim was promised a $1000 reward for helping authorities.

Man Given 181 Day Suspended Term in Bar Shooting
Marvin T. Robertson, 38, of 5 Grandfield Avenue, was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Joseph Morelli after pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
