Holland Hill House Rejected For Use as Branch Library
The Library Board of Trustees rejected using an old dwelling on the Holland Hill school playground as a branch library citing costly renovations and staff needs. Chairman Philo C. Calhoun said funds could instead support mobile book services and potentially future bookmobiles, while planning deposit stations at Tunxis Hill and Kings Highway. The town will consider automobile transport for books and a bookmobile request may reappear in next year’s budget. Grange Get Together at Greenfield Hill Grange hall features a social night with hosts Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Gillette, followed by canasta and pinochle after supper.
