Invention Section Created By War Department
Washington May 12 The War department creates an invention section to review new devices useful to the war. It will be led by an advisory board of mechanical electrical and chemical experts attached to the general staff. Brunton is chairman with several listed officers and scientists on the panel. Drawings and designs may be submitted in confidence though the army will not cover preparation costs. Submitters must state if they want compensation if the government uses their ideas.
