Man Wounded as Peacemaker Shot in Las Ve Gas Brawl
Angel Laportes 32 of 38 Clinton Avenue was shot in the left leg about 9:30 p.m. while trying to stop a quarrel among three men at the Las Ve gas restaurant. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in fair condition. Philip Matta 26 of 556 Washington Avenue and two others were arrested on breach of the peace charges. Matta allegedly fired the shot but police have not recovered the weapon. Matta held on $10,000 bail. others detained on $5,000 bail each.
