May Term Nott Trial Date To Be Fixed Soon
Jurors drawn for the May Term Superior Court as three more murder cases are set for the docket. The Nott and Johnston murder charges await a fixed trial date at a conference between State’s Attorney and Judge Mabbie. Separate trials for each defendant may be determined at the opening session Tuesday afternoon. The jury is to report Wednesday morning.

East End Merchants Push Eight O Clock Closing
A reconstituted East End merchants group at 1175 Stratford Avenue urged stores to close at eight o clock each evening and on Sundays. Temporary chair A J Golman and West End Association president J Lubelaky spoke in favor. Officers elected included President Samuel A Behneider Vice President S Goldman Recording Secretary Samuel Sohkine and Treasurer Landsman. A follow up meeting set for Wednesday to decide on enforcing an eight o clock closing May 15.

China leader thanks U S for aid to starving China
A message from the Chinese president thanking the American people for aid to starving China was dictated at Glenbrook near Stamford tonight by the Chinese consul general in New York. Nearly 1,090 receiving stations, some as far as Michigan, were asked to pass on the message. The communication also urged further aid through the China famine fund to feed 7,000,000 Chinese suffering extreme privation.
