Readjustment Adds to Jap Unemployment
May 3. Since last spring about 24 large factories public and private have discharged roughly 160,400 workers, most still without fixed employment. The number is expected to rise this summer as TokIo and Osaka arsenals cut output and more join militia and allied industries. Business readjustment continues across the empire and unemployment is forecast to rise through the first half of the year.
