Priests Complete Plans For Msgr Murphy Rites
The Cathedral priests finished preparations for the viewing and funeral rites for Msgr James F Murphy the rector since 1934 who died of a heart ailment. He was found dead in his study yesterday morning and will lie in state at St Augustine's Cathedral and be buried in Priests' Circle at St Michael's Cemetery after Pontifical Mass.

City to Remove Isle Type Esplanades on Major Streets

Fire damages duct at Post Building
A vent lining in the radi of The Post Publishing Co at 410 State street caught fire around 4 30 p m yesterday. Fire crews arrived after an alarm from Box 127 at 1 32 p m. Danbury Girl Killed In Brookfield Crash
A 15 year old Danbury girl, Barbara Ritch of 15 Grove Street, died after a car skidded out of control on Grey's Bridge Road near the Brookfield bridge. The driver, Palmer Parsons, 22, of 7 Crown Street, and passengers John Skelly, 19, and Joanne Williams, 16, were unhurt. Skelly faced charges of speeding and driving to cause loss of life.
