Woman Slashed in Brawl Leaves Victim Critical

A woman identified as Bertha Sent, 24, was slashed and beaten during a dispute with a man and remained in critical condition at St. Vincent's hospital. Patrolman Thomas Jordan was head and face injured while arresting the suspect and is hospitalized in Park City with severe injuries.

Ronald A. Bassett, president of the Independent Aircraft Guild, said the guild will not disband and will continue to serve hourly rated Sikorsky employees. The group might file an objection with the National Labor Relations Board regarding last week's Sikorsky election, where bargaining rights were lost to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The board unanimously approved a statement that the guild shall remain in existence, conduct periodic meetings, and continue accepting contributions as an organization to serve the hourly rated employees.

Cop Bowls A Capture With Stick

Patrolman Joseph Deurilla used a nightstick to halt fleeing 14 year old Wa syl Zazulak at Fairfield avenue. Zazulak tried to flee after leaving a police car and tripped on the stick. He later refused a meal at Esquire diner and threw food at the manager before being recaptured with help. Charged with breach of the peace and resisting arrest, bail set at 200 dollars.

Winds Blow Cousins 14 Far Out Onto the Sound

Two young boys in a stall rowboat were blown into the Long Island Sound by strong winds yesterday at 2 40 pm. Arthur Bradtmuller and James Paavi, both cousins aged 14, are the subjects of a Coast Guard search as police report their disappearance near Fairfield Beach.
