New Haven Robber Gould Gets Split Five Year Sentences

Edward M. Gould, 28, received two five year suspended terms to run concurrently after pleading guilty to two conspiracy counts in a 1968 bank robbery case in U.S. District Court. The Mt Vernon Trust and State National Bank of New Haven robberies netted about $53,000. Judge Robert C. Zampano noted the confidential memo from police influenced the sentence and ordered probation.

Stratford School Plan Protested by 12 Parents

At a Stratford Board of Education meeting, 12 parents protested a proposal to combine 20 students from three special classes next year. Spearheaded by Mr and Mrs Robert Andersen, the group of parents of exceptional children criticized the plan and alleged lack of cooperation with families of mentally and physically handicapped students.

Fairfield RTM approves 1.1 million for sewers and town offices

The Fairfield RTM authorized two sewer extensions totaling 1.11 million dollars and approved 23 thousand for town hall and Burr annex air conditioners. It also allocated 30 thousand for a golf recreation center on Hayden's Hill and referred a police commission study to committee. Bonds will fund the projects.

Swedish American of the Year Nyselius named in Stockholm

Gus tav Nyselius of Stamford Connecticut was named Swedish American of the year by Swedish branches of the Vasa order. The octogenarian industrialist founded Mount Vernon Die Casting Co after arriving in 1909 and was praised for donating 400000 to Fairfield University and 20000 to a Swedish home for the elderly in Staten Island.

Council to Act Friday On Model Cities Plan

Townsend Loses Bond Appeal In Hartford Court
