The redevelopment agency proposes a $37,233,000 execution grant for Congress Plaza with an initial portion sought now and later phases deferred, notably for job development and transportation in the southern section. The car was pursued 16 minutes and recovered the entire sum. Jerry and Peggy Golden were charged with armed robbery. Peggy gave the alias Calamity Jane and claimed to be 13.

Fairfield police report a 70 year old woman died after being hit by a westbound car on Kings Highway. The driver Walter E North Jr 17 49 Smedley Road Fairfield says she walked into the path of his vehicle. He was charged with negligent homicide and released on a $1000 bond. This was Fairfield second auto fatality this year according to Capt. Thomas Lennon accident prevention bureau.
Photoengraving workers at Bridgeport Herald, 299 Lafayette St, elected to be represented by Bridgeport Printing Pressmen and Assistants Union Local 175 in a plant election. The 4 to 2 vote, with six eligible voters, awaits NLRB regional verification in New York.
