Communist Party Is Sued for Taxes in Federal suit

The government filed suit in federal court against the Communist Party of the United States and four leaders for 560544.63 in income taxes plus penalties and interest. The taxes were assessed for 1956. With interest the claim exceeds a half million dollars. Leaders named include Gus Hall as general secretary Benjamin Davis as national secretary Eliasbeth Gurley Flynn as national chairman and Philip Bart as organizational chairman.

Ex convict held in three Marion, Indiana killings

White ex convict David B Niccum, 24, was arrested in Winnemucca Nevada with 11 year old Karin Harris. He allegedly kidnapped Karin after the double murder scene in Indiana and led officers to the state line before arrest. The girl was unharmed. The car was recovered.

Dogs Rescued From Icy Pond At Beardsley Park
