In Washington March 18 special to The Telegram Attorney Benedict M Holden, Bridgeport politician, helped pressure for ousting Arthur Connor from the Bridgeport postmaster job. Delaney and Connor faced hearings as the post office dispute unfolded amid broader political tensions between factions and questions of impropriety.
Property owners on Fairfield Avenue and Bridgeport Paper Box Co appeal Road of Relief decisions in Superior Court arguing machinery values and stock on hand were overestimated. An escaped inmate from the Norwich hospital fled Monday, leading to a brutal struggle with New Haven officer Patrolman McQueeny and State Policeman Bernard Scull at New Haven Police Headquarters. The inmate was eventually subdued and jailed, McQueeny later returning to duty dazed by a jaw injury.
