The town council established pay for polling place workers for the April 17 Republican primary. Moderators will earn 15 dollars, assistant registrars 10, checkers 9, challengers 7.50, and machine tenders 7.50. No machine tenders are needed due to paper ballots. Democrats show no primary contest so far.
Police seek a thief who removed two front wheels and tires from John Reh's car parked in the rear of his home on Stratford Avenue. The vehicle had been jacked up and the wheels taken sometime Sunday night.

Mayor Tedesco announced plans to repair the Pleasure Beach bridge and reopen the park this summer. The case of Mrs. Julia DiNardo was continued for a week in Towns court pending a coroner's inquest into the shooting of her husband Pasquale DiNardo, an auto and real estate dealer.
