Whitinsville Mass March 14 Three persons were seriously injured and over 30 cut and bruised when two coaches of the Worcester Providence express left the rails near Dion's crossing. The rear cars turned on their sides while the locomotive and one passenger coach remained on track. Injured include Elwood Walling baggage master of Harrisville R I with internal injuries, Charles Fichter Providence aged 70 with dislocated shoulder and fractured ribs, J H Mongeau Pawtucket with probable skull fracture. Thirty more treated for cuts and bruises. investigation opened by railroad officials.

Washington March 14 The oil committee recessed until next Tuesday due to illness of Senator Walsh Montana the chief prosecutor after a lingering bronchial condition his doctor advised rest for several days his condition described as not serious and he is expected to resume duties next week with the committee awaiting his return to proceed with the inquiry
Plainfield, Conn. March 14 Mr and Mrs Henry Dorrance prominent residents were killed when their automobile was struck at Main Street crossing by a freight train of the New London and Worcester division. Dorrance 64 was born here and served as president of the Connecticut Sheep Breeders Association. He represented the town in 1919. Three children survive.
Fairfield March 14 special to The Telegram Judge Elmore Banks resigned as chair man and member of the Nephbiican town committees amid threats from insurgent Republicans who aim to oust him. The split traces to Rev. Alien Beeman’s independent school board candidacy last election. Oliver Gould Jennings was elected to fill the vacancy.
Jack Delaney, famed Bridgeport middleweight, defeats Paul Berlenbach at Madison Square Garden in four rounds. The New York crowd of 14,000 roared as Delaney delivered a powerful right to the body, delivering three knockdowns to Berlenbach who showed resilience in the early frames.
