Hartford March 13 Officials from the town of Washington will receive their final state and federal payments Wednesday for the first redevelopment project to be started and completed with state aid. The ceremony at 10 am will honor First Selectman Roderick Wynant and Redevelopment Secretary Henry B. Van Sinder in the office of LeRoy Jones planning for the town's downtown redevelopment begun after the 1955 flood. State aid totaling 88 373 183 has been provided under Nebraska legislation and disaster provisions of the 1949 Housing Act. The project, begun after destruction of the Washington Depot downtown area by the 1955 flood, is the first federally aided disaster project nationwide. Total net project cost was 2000.
