Hubbard Elimination Bill Passes In Connecticut
The Republican state org rallied to push through a bill to remove E Kent Hubbard from the State Board of Finance or as a trustee of the Connecticut Agricultural College and director of the Cheshire Reformatory. An amendment saved Wadhams, but Hubbard was eliminated. The action followed a dispute between Hubbard and Clark of the Hartford Courant, both Cheshire reformatory board directors. The measure also bars holding appointive state offices if the person already serves as a trustee or director of a state institution.
