Gulf Refining Co Gives Up Gasoline Sale Here
Gulf Refining Co turns over six steamers to the government and suspends gasoline and kerosene sales at its station in this city. The move, driven by patriotism, reduces local carrying capacity to about 59 percent of former levels while allowing continued sale of lubricants and related products. The change affects about 12 years of local ops and a large regional trade, with oil shipments now prioritized for public service needs.
