Orville A. Preuster a federal customs officer was killed and Elmer Whitacre fatally injured when a bomb hidden in Preuster's automobile exploded as the starter was activated in Niagara Falls New York. Preuster had been active in curbing liquor smuggling and was brother of Lucas Lee P former county leader of the Ku Klux Klan. Whitacre survived initially but was expected to die. The metal box and copper wiring were found in the car after the blast.

The New Fork World reports Ans Jav O Brien, former wife of Fire Tydis Flelechmann, lost a fortune valued between 25 million and 60 million dollars through a marriage that ended six months later. She divorced the yeast magnate in Paris on July 20, 1924, soon after which she reportedly remarried. Weeks after securing her divorce, Tremchman is said to have destroyed an oil where she held residual rights to his estate, and Fleiachmann died on February 5.
