Ordinance Gap Exposed In Hydrant Parking Case
City court yesterday upheld a demurrer by Police Commissioner Philop Calhoun in a case against Conrad Lashar for parking near a hydrant, revealing the Board of Aldermen had failed to add hydrant parking restrictions to the city traffic ordinance. Twenty five motorists faced arraignment for various motor vehicle violations with fines up to $1. John Roberts was fined $100 and costs for liquor found at his restaurant. George Wingfield and Joseph Keating paid fines for a Seaside Park fight, with Keating receiving a suspended jail term.
