June 24 Hague observers report prolonged debates at the World Court where jurists have not drafted parts of any plan. Life tenure for judges was debated, with concerns that it could burden the court with aging officials. Optimism remained about eventual results despite interwoven questions complicating progress.
The record cites 4,350,000 German deaths, with 2,120,000 war orphans and 500,000 maimed. It notes 1250 000 men killed and mentions three war widows and widespread hardship among civilians and dependents.

Dublin June 24 Cardinal Logue primate of Ireland said he had received warning that time was set and that he was grateful for the notice if it gave him time to prepare. He added he had tried to serve his country and never offended anyone in religion or politics. He warned that if he died suddenly there would be no justification for those responsible.
Ohio suffragists denied a published statement that National Woman’s Party members who picketed the Chicago convention would meet Senator Harding at home in Marion this summer. State party chairman Dr Gillette Jayden said plans were for a July deputation in conference rather than picketing.
Missouri Republicans gathered in Sedalia on June 2 to demand the resignation of National Committeeman Jacob L. Babler and State Chairman W. L. Cole after their testimonies before a Senate investigating committee. The resolutions urge purging the party of those who allegedly prostituted it to commercial interests and plan to form committees to present the resolutions to the state committee and to Will Hays, seeking Babler's removal from the national committee.
An officer raided an alleged gambling house at 72 Wikard Street associated with the Ekaranian club. Five frequenters were arrested and Michael Dudanta of the same address was held as the alleged keeper.
San Francisco June 24. Democratic national committee members discuss adding a woman suffrage declaration to the party platform. They have consulted suffrage leaders and aim to back ratification, viewing it as foregone. News that Governor Raports of Tennessee may call a legislative session on the amendment boosts party hopes.
In San Francisco 16 full votes will seat on the floor with one seat per vote 1092 seats total. Delegates with fractional votes must elect among themselves who sits and who is held for alternates. CIMGAGO June 24 The railway labor board may hand down a decision on new wage schedules for all railroad workers next week with no definite date set. Judge H. M. Barton, chairman, said tentative awards may be revised once all figures are compiled. President Wilson's message urging expedition was published, though the board noted it could not produce a complete award now. Tomorrow a joint meeting of Chicago Yardmen and United Trainmen's associations will discuss the strike situation and public explanation of their stance.

SAN FRANCISCO June 24 National committee members meet to finalize the temporary roll of Democratic convention delegates. They anticipate a lively session if Senator James A. Reed of Missouri appears to press recognition as a delegate. Reed, a League of Nations opponent, was not listed as a delegate from the Fifth Missouri district and had no confirmation from the secretary of the national committee. The Missouri state convention earlier rejected Reed’s selection by the Fifth district Democrats.
Vice President Marshall announced at the Democratic National Convention that the platform would emphasize a safe and sane plan. He stated he is not a candidate for office and has not decided how he will vote, wishing a brief platform. He notes no serious prohibition issue, personal views unchanged, and supports observing constitutional prohibition.
