Runaway Car Owner Arrested and Dozen Others Charged
Percy Carraghes of Stratford faced arrest after his runaway car struck two men and several autos on Fairfield avenue before crashing into a white pole. Marence C Hogan of Kaeser Main was also arrested for driving under the influence. Eleven other motorists were arrested for reckless driving and speeding. all released on licenses except Hogan who posted $200 bond for trial.

Five year old Charles Cavaleri at 188 George street is in critical condition at St Vincent's with a probable skull fracture after crossing Main and Frank streets yesterday morning. Jitney driver Karl Kovechelle of Long Hill, charged with reckless driving, says the boy ran into his car. Witnesses say the jitney did not stop after the impact, sliding about 40 feet.
