Nome Alaska June 16 A new Arctic expedition led by Carl Lowen will depart for Wrangel Island to memorialize Lorne E Knight who perished on a prior voyage. The venture, supported by Vilhjalmur Stefansson and allies, seeks to determine last year’s party readiness and whether it met Knight and companions.
Naval court reports that a dead sailor’s hand touched a selective switch in the Death Chamber aboard the Mississippi last Thursday. Patrick Dunn, the chauffeur, initially thought lightly hurt, was later found to have a broken nose and a fractured frontal bone by X ray.
A memorial tablet in Yale Memorial Hall honors Allen Keith of Southport who died November 28, 1921 from burns in the Rialto theatre fire. The tablet, presented by Herbert Francia Sturdy of Los Angeles to Yale Provost Henry S. Pritchard, marks Keith as a Yale sophomore who sacrificed his life.
