A fire in a wire enameling oven at Asco Wire and Cable, 1180 Stratford Road, Stratford, caused $2,000 damage and confined to the oven. Separately in London actor Robert Donat, star of Goodbye Mr Chips, died at 53 after years of ill health, collapsing last month and dying in a London hospital. Hartford Boy Killed in Curve After Car Misses Pole
