Police busted a June 3 swindle involving public accountant J. Smith and George Van Alstyne in Sew Ork. Walter L. Williams, carpet cleaner president, accused them of extortion and falsifying income tax returns to obtain a $5,000 silence fee. An arrest followed after Williams paid $1,400 in marked notes to Van Alstyne.
