Olin Aluminum Workers Remain On Strike After Pact
New York AP reports 900 Olin Aluminum Co workers stay on strike despite a wage pact with AFL CIO United Steelworkers. The agreement calls for a minimum hourly raise over three years and up to about 1.40 extra per hour, with Alcoa and other major firms also negotiating. The Hannibal Ohio plant walked out after talks broke down over local issues, with no resumption date set.
