London July 22 AP Prohibition measures in India have greatly improved workers, says C V Mehta executive council member of Bombay. He notes alcohol consumption fell from 2860 000 gallons to 1800 000 in two and a half years, with shops closed during strikes. He cites abstinence among the majority of Indians and improved conditions for the masses.

Merritt backs harbor dredging plan for Black Rock area
Congressman Schuyler Merritt has received a petition from officials of fifteen industries and property owners urging deeper Black Rock harbor and Cedar Creek channel.
