Danbury Hat Theft Case Hearing Continued

In Danbury, Patrick Elligott of Bethel and Standard Hat faces a hat theft charge. The hearing was postponed to Thursday at his counsel’s request. Judge Thomas Coughlin presided. Mayor David HaGerald of New Haven and S. D. Gould, both involved, represent Truly Warmer of New York, the hat designers.

Bridgeport Big Market for Long Island Duck Industry

A Shelton man Frederek Valentine dies at 429 Mythie Street. Long Island duck industry has grown to international importance with 30,606 ducks shipped to England this year and weekly sales estimated at 45,000 to 50,000 ducks for the United States. Bridgeport hosts large daily fresh-fowl trade with ducks running on farms to loading platforms nightly. Duck prices range from 18.5 to 40 cents a pound at markets yesterday.

Clifton Mine Riot Inquest Continued in Wellsburg

The inquest into the death of A. P. Duval and three others killed at the Clifton mine near Whittonville was postponed until tomorrow. A foreign witness, aided by an interpreter, caused confusion in court today.

Bishop Cup Race Entries Close at Midnight Aug 20

Nathan terbrook Jr. longtime head of Easterbrook Manufacturing and ship owner died at New Haven aged 86.
