President Nasser of the United Arab Republic ended his stay with President Tito in Yugoslavia ahead of schedule. The July 2 to July 14 trip was shortened to hasten his return and efforts to obtain comment on Iraqi developments were not successful.
Dr. Elias J. Marsh announced that Fairfield State Hospital in New Town earned the American Psychiatric Association approval, joining Connecticut and Norwich State hospitals as fully approved state facilities. Governor Ribicoff and officials praised leadership, noting all Connecticut state hospitals now meet the three year residency training program. The 800 patients at Bridgeport and 2,200 statewide will benefit from this recognition and ongoing care improvements.

In Muncie Indiana on July 14 AP reports two children Lloyd Steven Wright seven and his sister Pamela Bundesen age 18/8 died while playing near a new home under construction. Coroner Warren Bergwall said the children sat with bare feet in water and the boy touched a conduit with faulty insulation at a temporary power installation.
